st martin fields londonSt Martin-in-the-Fields, built in 1726, is one of London's best-loved churches. The masterpiece of the 18th century architect James Gibbs, it is famous for its work with the homeless and also for its music.

There are evening concerts every weekend and free recitals at 1pm during the week.

The stunning crypt now houses one of London's most interesting cafés, a gift shop, a bookshop, an art gallery and a brass-rubbing centre.

Although admission is free, there are some charges for brass rubbings.
